This doesn’t happen often enough.
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.
Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it “Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold.”
The note was a follow-up to Ensign’s questioning at the markup.

Undamnbelievable. Indamncredible. The Internet is alive with the sound of music … and it is Battle Hymn of the Republic and not “Ummm ummm ummm Obama.” Nobody, including moi, is quite able to comprehend the Democrats and the Obama administration are so ready and willing to commit suicide, leave the scene of the crime and never again, like the turtle, be heard throughout the land.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau (not ACORN), the number of Americans living in poverty increased last year, with nearly 36 million people below the poverty line, 1.3 million more than last year, the U.S. Census Bureau reported yesterday.
Now then, just how many prison camps are the AmeriNazis going to have to build in order to imprison 36 MILLION people who can’t afford to buy, pay for, be forced into or otherwise hammered into buying Obama’s Health Insurance? Okay, make that 36,000,001 because I don’t think I can afford the insurance and KNOW I can’t afford any more Change and Hope.
‘Sokay. After they come and try to get me, there will be a few less arresting ossifers left to go after you.
And don’t give me any more of that crap about it being the same as automobile insurance, which most Illegals also don’t have; we buy auto insurance to protect ourselves and our cars and because it is required by law when we are driving on roads created by local, state, and Federal government, and to protect ourselves against all those illegal aliens and scofflaws who our government has not only permitted on our highways but employed at the highest levels in Federal government. Going to jail for a year would almost be acceptable if they would start filling all those cells with the tax cheats in the White House.
And them’s my thunks about that.
